Don’t strive to be the Proverbs 31 woman..

just be yourself. be who God has called you to be. be His Spirit-filled Daughter.

the Holy Spirit will take care of the rest.

THIS. THIS. THIS.

God doesn’t call you to conform to the Bible—He calls you to be who He created you as: YOU.

……………………………wut? God wants me to be the lazy, selfish, lying, adulteress that I am? Good to know. Being myself is so cool.

Honestly, I think the Proverbs 31 woman is a wonderful example for us women to look up to and to want to be like. Just how the Lord’s prayer is an example of how we should pray, I feel the Proverbs 31 woman is an example of how us women should be. It has nothing to do with being ourselves or not and I mean, we are not our own anyway. It’s just a beautiful example of what we should want to be like for ourselves, our family, our future spouse and children, and most importantly, for the Lord. :)

I think what wearenotpoetsx was trying to say is that…instead of focussing so much specifically on just a couple of verses, you should focus on God. And then when you focus on God and just do what He tells you to, the Holy Spirit will work in you and change you and consequently, you’ll become a Proverbs 31 woman.

Just like with the Fruit of the Spirit! Don’t worry about applying each quality of the the fruit to your life, but instead, apply Christ and the Holy Spirit to your life and as a result of the Holy Spirit living in you, you’ll bear His fruit! (the fruit of the Spirit!)

The goal here is not different nor has it changed, but simply the thought process and path to that goal is new and different :)
