petition to stop the sharing of tumblr jokes on facebook

I just got back from a wonderful breakfast with a bunch of lovely ladies in my church and our community.

God is doing some amazing things in and through our Women’s Ministry. It’s incredible and I’m so blessed to be a part of it.
Today we heard stories and talked about taking steps of faith as a part of our Sole to Soul theme. (the whole place was decorated with shoes, and ladders, and smooth stones!)
The love and support this morning during our breakfast get together was everywhere as ladies talked, laughed, shared, hugged, and listened.

AND I’m back!!

A day early, I know. But it’s because I finished school today! HURRAY.

Through this whole break from tumblr, I’ve learned how important it is to put.God.first.
I’ve now started to (and will hopefully keep up):

• Declaring “This is the day that the Lord has made! I will rejoice and be glad in it!” every morning as soon as I wake up. I’ll then pray about whatever my day is projected to bring
• Listen to Christian music every night as I’m falling asleep
• Read the next section of Genesis before I get sleepy
• Pray after I read ^ and tell God and thank Him for my 5 daily blessings (and any bonus extra blessings)

It’s fun :) I encourage you guys to try at least one of these!  They’ve He’s changed my mood and additude way more than I ever imagined He would.

So what are my five blessings today?

1. An 88% on my final math test. Although I would’ve prefered an A, a B is still good :)
2. I FINISHED SCHOOL.
3. Testing’s tomorrow!! I’m weirdly excited. Mostly because standard tests don’t bug me…But I’m also super excited to see my best friend!
4. Almost all packed for camp this weekend!
5. My mom signed me up to take the ACT in June. This is a blessing because it means I’ll have less big tests to take next school year (my senior year) and it also means I’m THAT much closer to college!

Why are we so focused on us being beautiful? Why are we so focused on our happiness?

Life is not about being happy or feeling beautiful.  Life is not about being entertained by the things on this planet.  Life is not about signing in to your blog and scrolling the hours away.  Life is not about watching MTV or Nickelodeon.  Life is not about beating every level on a video game.

Life is about glorifying God.  Life is about getting out there and serving Him with everything that we have.

When we fast, it’s not just a break from a certain thing or pass-time.  We’re supposed to be filling the time that that item or event took up with servitude to God; learning more about Him and teaching others about Him and being active in His community.

So what’s stopping us?

I meet the coolest people on tumblr.
